What is included with the Stator DEMO? |

The Stator DEMO is limited in functionality. You are free to use this DEMO to evaluate and trial Stator. Also included in with the DEMO is all the tools that come with the full registered version. In fact, the DEMO becomes the full registered version after you obtain a registration code from us.
Included in the DEMO is the full Stator help file, and all other associated files which make up Stator. The entire DEMO is approximately 17MB in size, you only need to download it once. |

What are the technical requirements to run Stator on my computer? |

Stator utilises common database technology which comes pre-installed in most versions of Windows®. Stator will function correctly so long as the common database requirements are installed on your computer. By default users of Windows XP®, 2000 and ME will be fine to run Stator. Users of operating systems which are older should read our technical requirements to make sure the required files are installed.

I trade CFD's, how does Stator manage financing costs? |

We acknowledge the increased popularity of CFD's as a useful investment and trading tool by providing support for CFD's within Stator. To manage financing obligations for margined positions a Stator user has three choices.
1. You can apply a finance cost of your own specified amount to the parcel.
2. You can set up financing parameters to instruct Stator to calculate the required financing costs to apply to a single parcel or
3. You can enable parcels for "Express Update", Stator will automatically apply the correct finance cost to the parcel (long or short) when you apply the "Express Update" |

What data can I import into Stator? |
| |
You have four options when updating price data in Stator. You can either update price data manually for each code that belongs to an active portfolio, from a linked historical datasource, via a text file or online through our FREE, fast online update system.
Text file importing is performed using "end of day" price information. Stator supports either the popular MetaStock ® or Ezy Chart ® formats of text file. Perhaps the most popular method of updating price data is online. This is a simple process of clicking a single button and all price information is updated in a matter of seconds.
After each update, a comprehensive report breaks down the movements in value and percentage of each Owner, System and parcel holding. |

What happens if tax rules change, how do I obtain a new tax module? |
| |
The tax module for Stator is programmed by us. When tax rules change it is a simple matter of downloading the new tax module and Stator will recognise the changes.
If you have any trades that you want to re-assess through the tax module you can still do this as Stator will not change any tax results without you initiating them.
We will either make the tax module available for download from this website or we will notify you via email that when we have made updates. |

Is the tax module compliant with current Australian Capital Gains rules? |

Yes it is, if you enable the Australian tax rules Stator will always return the most favourable capital gains calculation for your trade. For example a trade eligible for both indexation and discounting will only return the capital gains result which has the most favourable capital gains calculation. |

Quick Quote has stopped obtaining prices, what do I do? |
| |
Quick Quote obtains price data from an online data source (Yahoo!Finance). Located in the same folder as QuickQuote.exe will be a file named "quickquote.ini", inside this file are various parameters which are used by the Quick Quote program, including the URL address used to obtain price data.
From time to time, Yahoo!Finance may change the server address which is used to obtain price data. We will always ensure that Quick Quote which is available for download from our website will have the latest server address, you can manually change the server address for yourself if you already have Quick Quote installed.
To change the URL server address:
- Open the quickquote.ini file which is located in the Quick Quote installation folder.
- Change the URL entry to read:
URL= http://finance.yahoo.com.au/download/quotes.csv?format=sl&ext=.csv&symbols=
The URL entry is found under the "Defaults" heading.
- Save the quickquote.ini file. |
