Stator Trial, Downloads & Licence
Stator simply stops running, nothing else. No charge, no auto-renewal, no data lost. Your portfolio data stays on your machine exactly where you left it. If you decide to purchase a licence, you pick up right where you left off.
No. Your trial data carries straight into the licenced version, every Estate, position and transaction stays exactly as it is. Activating your licence unlocks the software, it doesn't reset it.
Stator runs on Windows 10 and above. Mac users can run it successfully using virtualisation software such as Parallels Desktop or VMware Fusion. No internet connection is required to use Stator, only to download it and receive updates.
Yes, but each computer needs its own licence activation. If you want Stator on four machines, you'll need four licences for the applicable version.
No. Stator is a digital download- purchase or start a trial from this website and you're up and running in minutes.
Yes. Data from versions 1 and 2 can be imported using the Stator import plugin in version 3 and 4. Versions 3 and above use compatible database files, so your data carries straight across.
Yes. Using the data manager you can point Stator at a database file in any location, and switch between embedded and server protocols whenever you're ready. This is how Platinum users connect entire teams to a single data source.
Yes. Buy additional activations via the purchase page and they're added to your licence immediately.
No- unless you're on Platinum. Stator is a one-off purchase. Buy a licence and use Stator for as long as you like. Each licence includes 12 months of updates and support, and when that period ends you choose: keep using your current version indefinitely, or renew maintenance for another 12 months of updates.
That's no problem, we have older versions available for download. Just email us and we will send you a link to an older version. Please note, we no longer provide support for older versions- we concentrate our efforts to support and maintain the latest available version.
Visual Studies & Extensibility
Not at all. Over 25 studies are included and ready to use- just pick one and point it at your data. The built-in IDE is there for users who want to create their own, but it's entirely optional.
Open Stator, navigate to Global Options and download the visual studies add-on, this will enable the Visual Studies channel. That's it, no separate installer, no purchase, no account.
Everything Stator holds. Open and closed positions, income, cash accounts, watch-lists, charting data, diary notes and estate summaries are all available as data sources. If it's in Stator, you can build a visual study around it.
Several ways- write Python scripts for brokerage calculations, alerts and custom logic. Create Visual Studies to explore your data in new ways. Develop your own data plugins to connect to any price source, or import plugins to bring in records from any format. The plugin API is fully documented and included with Stator.

Plugins
No. Every plugin that ships with Stator is included at no additional cost. And many connect to free data sources, so there's no ongoing subscription for market data either.
Yes. You can connect multiple data plugins simultaneously, for example, Yahoo Finance for charting and Norgate Data for premium historical data. Stator handles them side by side.
Almost certainly. The CSV plugin handles most formats any broker can export, and if you need a direct connection, the plugin API is fully documented and open. You can build your own.

Platinum
Yes. Your existing data, Estates and configuration carry straight across, nothing is lost or rebuilt. Upgrading adds Platinum's features on top of everything you already have.
Platinum is a subscription. Pricing depends on your team size and setup- get in touch and we'll put together the right plan for your firm.
No. Platinum works straight away with a local embedded database- no server, no IT department required. When you're ready to connect your team, you can move to a centralised database on your network at any time. Start simple, scale when it makes sense.
Yes- contact us and we'll arrange a Platinum trial and walk you through pricing. Platinum is sold as an annual subscription, per activation.
